Student Scholarships and Workshop Opportunities

AREA I NC SOIL AND WATER SCHOLARSHIP
High school students interested in pursuing a college major in the studies of agriculture, conservation, energy, natural resources, environmental science or a related field are encourage to apply for the Area I NC Soil and Water Conservation Scholarship. Priority will be given to students who have participated in District programs. Applications are due to the District office by April. Email Creeden for more information.

Resource Conservation Workshop
The Resource Conservation Workshop (RCW) is a weeklong, all-expense paid trip to North Carolina State University. The Swain District selects two outstanding students, with a demonstrated interest in natural resource conservation, each year to attend the workshop. The selected students will attend intensive study sessions with an emphasis on the management of natural resources in today's environment. Scholarships and awards are presented to students at the end of the workshop based on their performance during the experience. Rising sophomores, juniors, and seniors are eligible for the RCW workshop. Applications are available at:
