About Swain County Government

Q: When do the Commissioners meet and how can I get an item on the agenda or speak at the meeting?
A: The Swain County Board of Commissioners holds two regular meetings: one on the second Monday and one on the fourth Monday of each month (except that if a regular meeting day is a legal holiday, the meeting will be held on the following Monday). Meetings are held at the Swain County Administration Building and begin at 7:00 pm for regular sessions and 1:00pm for work sessions. Please click here for information on agendas and public comment.

A: Agendas and minutes are published on this site. Agendas and minutes are also available in the Administration Office.

Q: Where is the Tag Office?
A: In Summer 2007, the Tag Office relocated to the Tax Office in the Administration Building.

Q: What kind of materials will the County accept for recycling?
